Anyone have a Bluestar or Ilve range? Pros/cons? Dwarf about a 48' v 36'. I won't use that many burners but need the bigger stove. And wouldn't a potential buyer expect a large range? (House is worth 1.4m) Thanks
When we redo our kitchen, I'm expecting to pick up a blue star. They're designed to suit wok cooking extremely well.
I *love* my Bluestar. Open burners actually do increase functionality of a gas range, and the ability to use a round bottom wok without a ring is great. Plus, if you get the 36" you can fit a full-size sheet pan in, which is great for baking and so many other things. I will say, we got the model with the interchangeable griddle and grill, and really don't use it too much. We only had space for a six burner, 36", and I've found I'm unwilling to sacrifice two burners to keep the griddle up at all times. It's really cumbersome to keep moving it on and off. Not that I often use more than four burners at a time, but I like the extra space. If we had done the 48", the griddle would have been great.
