Just FYI: Automatic weapons are banned, although people can buy bump stocks that convert semi-automatic weapons to fully automatic weapons.  Semi-automatic weapons used to be banned, but the ban expired in 2004.  And yes, mass shootings increased after that.  Efforts to reinstate the ban or something similar failed.  [/quote]
