How was the room that the parents slept in? Are they swine too? As a parent, I usually run thru the rooms to make sure nothing was left behind like chargers etc. I guess these parents didn't do that. Do not mention anything now. Next time, give them YOUR expectations for the room. Have your DH do a run thru of the bedrooms BEFORE they leave. BTW, as a guest, don't most people ask the host how to handle the dirty bedding and towels?
OP here- the room my brother stayed in actually was left quite neat with a small thank you note. So.....this actually made me follow my gut and speak to him. We spoke this morning and he was actually incredibly receptive actuality thankful. He said he was embarrassed and disgusted. We don't go to them often they live out of state but last I remember they had a fairly tidy home. I am happy I said something, I was vert nice, calm and polite in how I approached it but just told him it had been on my mind (there was soda spilled on the brand new guest room carpet so had to have a carpet cleaner come) and used this as the segway to bring it up. He could not have been nicer and thanked me because he said he hates the idea that they might go to friends home and do this too. So all is well that ends well and I guess the lesson here, is go with your gut!
