1--Safety of children 2--Safety of staff 3--Are buses able to run 4--Are school buildings able to function How they SHOULD NOT decide: 1--Will parents be able to take the day off, find daycare, stand being around their kids? 2--What would they do in Kansas? Michigan? Alaska? Russia? Iceland? 3--What did people do 10 20 30 40 years ago? 3--Will DCUM parents whine and cry about it?
Let me guess, you either work for the school system or a stay at home mom that doesn't have to worry about working to pay the mortgage, car payments, etc?
I'm a teacher and I agree with OP. Honestly, PP, you sound as though you don't take responsibility for your own children. If schools close suddenly, have back up daycare. You don't need Einstein's brain to figure that out either. My kids are my responsibility. It's that simple. And when there are kids facing hardships in school, I try to help as much as possible, too, as not everyone is privileged. So I have pity - just not for the overly educated folks on this forum who complain about everything. That's entitlement, you do know . . .
