You need to help yourself.  It's a tough answer, but the only answer.  He has shown you his character, even before you lived together with a baby.  Expect nothing more than child support, because that's all this POS is going to give, and likely only when court mandated.

Move on with your life.  You still have so many opportunities to make a wonderful life with your child.  [/quote]
