DH here. So, I've been married for 13 years, and I realize I'm not up to date on what these terms mean in a dating context. (I'm actually surprised so many of you seem so confident that you do know. Are you all recently married?) That said, even if it's taken at a much more innocent face value, that he really does just want to watch a movie and relax, if nothing else it seems like he's getting a really casual, cheap date, and only on the second date, no less. It's the Christmas season, you're young,[u] you should be getting dressed up and going out for a nice evening. Maybe I'm way too old-fashioned for my 36 years.
We don't know that. OP hasn't been back to update. I asked her that on Page 1---how old she and the date are. If they are my age (late 40s) he may not know. It may also explain why he (possibly both of them) thinks it might be nice to just hang out and watch a movie. That, for me, would depend on how much I've talked to him, regardless of actual dates. I would not have gone for that in my 20s. But if they're young, he knows what "Netflix and chill" means, so...No. Lost benefit of the doubt.
