There's only one social event st Georgetown Prep with the SR girls in freshman year. After that I'm unaware of any more things at Georgeyiwn Prep.

There are dances at Stone Ridge once or twice a year after that where local boys schools and girls schools are invited .

I'm not PP but my observation is that SR girls spend a lot less time with Prep boys than Visi girls spend with Gonzaga.  Not sure why but that's just how it is.  [b]Gonzaga is decidedly less academic than Prep[/b], but Visi has similar levels of academics to SR.

Both Gonzaga and Visi seem to let students in based on parish quotas and not necessarily academic achievement and test scores.
Prep is intensely academic and very competitive to get in (test scores, grades, legacy). SR is closer to that in that if you can't do the work they don't accept you , whereas Visi has a scaled down degree that you can get if you can't do the regular level of work - there's a college preparatory diploma and a general diploma. The general diploma involves fewer credits earned and you can have less than a 2.0 GPA.

I have no experience with SR, although it seems like a great school. PP is completely incorrect about Gonzaga and Visi. I'm not sure why people feel the need to tear down other schools (with no actual basis) in the process of providing information about their own kids' school. It's incredibly juvenile.[/quote]

Same with me.  My kids go elsewhere but I know many students who are nice kids but not academic superstars and they did well at Visi and Gonzaga.  I'm sure there are a few weak students at every top school but it's silly to try and say that Prep and Gonzaga are the same academically.  For one thing, Gonzaga is much larger and takes a much more diverse group of kids - you can tell just by looking at the range of colleges these boys end up attending.  Nobody is saying it's bad, just that it's less academic in general.  Do smart kids who end up at good schools go there?  Of course they do!  But as a percentage of the class they are in the minority, whereas a school like Prep sends a much larger percentage to the most competitive colleges.  [/quote]

Gonzaga can be every bit as academic as Prep based on a student's course load.  The only difference between the schools is that Gonzaga is more diverse many ways, including academic ability.  This is our 4.1 GPA 35 ACT son likes about it.[/quote]
