I don't know if he ever looks at the household checking account or credit card statements. He knows that I don't like to waste money so he doesn't worry about it. He's happy that things run smoothly and that he can stay focused on making money which he does quite nicely. [/quote]

Not this SAHM. He deals with the bills and finances, transparently. I use credit cards for household purchases and get a monthly cut of the income as cash to do with what I please. Lunches with friends, kid special treats, gifts for him, etc. Ben doing it this way for many years.
