I did W30 years ago to kick 40lbs. I still do 80% W30. Ive always cooked from scratch. The hardest part was giving up dairy. But after I did, i realized how intolerant i was of dairy! I feel great. The crazy thing is how much my taste buds changed. If i have ice cream or a cookie it tastes so sweet to me, it's sometimes gross. For me, now a bananna or apple is like a dessert. Oh and as a plus, im 5'9" and 140lbs at age 43. I just ran the Army 10miler and will be doing the MCM next weekend for the third time. The first time was for my 40th. It is false that W30 causes energy problems. It is the opposite.
I also found dairy intolerance after going back on dairy after whole 30. I couldn't tell how much of it was from giving up dairy for twomonths (it came late in my reintroduction) and losing the ability to process what had been fine. I weaned back on to dairy and now it seems fine but I can't tell what's best for me on the long term.
