Double sinks! Dh and I get ready for work together and get ready for bed together. Spitting toothpaste in the same sink is a mood killer. I thought most married couples got ready together? (toilet is in a little closet room)
Why would we get ready together? Weird.
Because we go to sleep and get up for work at the same time? Do you not? I see my neighbors all leave around the same time for work also. I am in the bathroom from 6:30-7 every morning getting ready. Where else would dh be if I'm there alone?
I have never, in nearly 17 years of marriage, gotten ready at the same time as my husband. Even when planning to leave the house at the same time in the morning (mostly weekends where we’re doing things together) one of us gets up first and gets ready. Lucky person number two gets a few more minutes of sleep now, or was busy taking care of the little babies. I have never brushed my teeth at the same exact time as my husband. We have had bathrooms with a double sink all but or year. We only use one sink, the other faucet only ever gets used when the sink is cleaned. Waste of space in my opinion.
+1 after 7+ years of marriage. Our existing "modesty wall" (pony wall) between the vanity and toilet puzzles me too -- I would never in a million years go to the bathroom with DH in the room, or hang around while he went. I'm not a prude but I do like to keep that one shred of remaining mystique in my marriage. And as others have said, we never brush/floss/whatever at the same time because we stagger our bathroom time. Consensus here is leaning heavily toward dual sinks, but I'm glad at least a few people relate! Ugh, stuff on counters...
+2. Over 17 years for us and we don't use the bathroom at the same time. We get up at different times even though we leave for work around the same time. We never get ready at the same time. Do those of you who get ready at the same time have to jockey for the shower as well? You don't have dual showers, right? The extra storage and counter space is worth it to us. We have enough other toilets in the house that if anyone needs to go, there is a pot for them so no need to share at all while getting ready.
