[/quote] The above quote was not directed at the anecdote about adult writing levels. It was just a general observation that people have different abilities and potentials, even in writing. Someone can practice and improve their writing from really, really bad to better by learning basic grammar and spelling, but most people are not going to become superb writers just by working at it. If they don't have a talent for writing to begin with, it really doesn't matter how wonderful the teacher is or how much writing is done in class. [/quote]
