Similar situation with sibling with mental illness, refusing counseling, freelancing/poor/in debt, etc. [/quote] 1) Do what you can to find publicly available resources 2) pay if needed for space in a shelter or halfway house facility 3) if you have enough advanced notice (as OP does), you might consider getting long-term care insurance to cover a future need for a nursing home).[/quote]
