How was the food at the camp?
Food wasn't bad. Everything was portioned breakfast there was yogurt, cereal, milk, bagels, cream cheese. Lunch/Dinner there was always an option of PB&J if you didn't like or want the main dish. There was soup/salad, spaghetti/meatballs for the,4th of July there was a BBQ corn on the cob, watermelon, burgers. Also there were snacks x2 a day it would sometimes be a fruit, popsicles or chips. Being a counselor and not having any restrictions I was able to have a larger portion than others also on my,nights off or days off I'd eat at a restaurant and have a cocktail.
This food doesn't sound that nutritious... was the camp nutritious approach more about portion control than choosing better substitutes? In a way I understand it. The food you mention is what it's more likely the kids would see in their homes/reach for in real life than say...kale chips. if they can learn how to navigate these real choices I guess that's a good thing.
