I am the mom that wrote the long list of lunches.   I am glad that you think that these are fancy lunches but trust me that most do not take that long. 15 minutes tops for most of them. Most of  these are leftovers.  The trick for hot foods is really to heat them up very well (use the reheat button on your microwave to get them at a boiling point) and prepare the thermos well too (heated water in the thermos for 10 minutes to warm the thermos first).  You have to keep the food either sufficiently hot or cold so that it is safe to eat.

Here is what I always have in my fridge - boiled eggs, boiled potatoes, prepared dough, chopped and sauteed veggies (onions, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower), cooked egg noodles, shredded cheese, lunch meats.  I am usually assembling in the morning and I use a lot of premade stuff.  Just need to be a bit organized,  and have a plan and a menu.   My kids are grown up enough that I do not have to get them ready in the morning, so that helps.  Easy thing to do is look at your dinner and think how you can use the left-over for lunch - just like we re-purpose the turkey after thanksgiving. Stuff it in a sandwich, bake it up in a puff pastry, everything tastes great with some cheese!!  And if something works and your kids like it, then add it to your list.  [/quote]
