I don't know why people are worried about Spring break. The calendar is set up so that we would have to miss more than 6 days of school to before dipping into spring break makeup. That's pretty unlikely. On the 3rd snow day we make up on June 13, then snow day 4, 5 can be made up on the June dates. 5 snow days is a full week off school, which seems to be our worst case scenario. In exchange, I can enjoy the last 2 weeks of summer in a MD beach house that costs less because these last 2 weeks are part of the shoulder season. And beaches are way less crowded. Loving this new schedule.
Where do you see the order in which the snow days will be used?
on the bottom of the mcps calendar online
I don't see an order - only for the first make up day which would be June 13. The rest says: School Contingency Calendar, 2017–2018 If the school year should be disrupted by emergencies and schools are closed three or more days, the first make-up day will be used on June 13, 2018. Other dates in 2018 identified as possible make-up days include: January 26, March 26, March 27, June 14, and June 15.
