Ok so let's throw in a curve-

2nd wife was the one who got away.  Had she been willing he would've married her. But she was a 21 yo who didn't want to be tied down so young.

So he meets and marries wonderful sweet wife 1.

He thinks about the one who got away over the years. When Wife 1 dies he pursues the one who got away.

They marry.

Agreed. Unless he asks to be buried with his second wife  (or to be cremated) instead, the man being discussed here should be buried with his first wife/the mother of his children.

But what is the right solution when the deceased man in question had kids with his first wife, became a widower, remarried,  & had more kids with his second wife?[/quote]
