Think of the hundreds of ingredients going into the Big Mac. It should be just like 4, plus a few for the sauce, plus 10 or less for the bun. Think of how many different cows are in that burger. It's not just one single cow. And it's not even three. More. Did that work?
This is what I consider. If I still must have a burger I go to BTS instead or WF. Those options are somewhat healthier. If I must get something from mcDonalds, I'll get pancackes or an egg mcmuffin. May not completely be healthy, but at least there's not 100 meat fillers and cows involved and I always feel full and satisfied.
McDonald's uses 100%beef - there are no fillers.
So they say. Why does it not taste or look like a homemade burger?
I don't have an issue with the beef part of a big mac. It's the sauce, extra bun and toppings that are the problem, and to a lesser extent the fried-in-its-own-fat thing. Just for giggles I looked up the nutrition information on McDonald's website. Calories / grams of fat / grams of carbs / grams of protein: Just the meat patty, lettuce and onions: 190 / 12 / 3 / 15 - not half bad for a fast-food lunch! Add a bun: 400 / 15 / 42 / 22 Add cheese and big mac sauce: 540 / 28 / 46 / 25 So I know what I'll do next time I'm craving a big mac: order one without cheese, toss 2 of the 3 bun sections, scrape off half the sauce, and eat the rest as an open-faced sandwich. Reasonable lunch calories and it cures the craving. Oh, and skip the fries. Medium fries has 340 calories and 16 grams of fat.
Damn, if I'm going to eat McDonalds, I'm going to actually have McDonalds in all it's juicy goodness. No cheese is not a Big Mac. One bun section and open-faced is not a Big Mac. Are you going to eat that with a knife and fork??
