[/quote] Why is that "tricky"?[/quote] OK, so not "tricky" but even if the schools are not random in their choices, the impact of compressed test score distributions, the need to create a well-rounded class, and a concern for yield rates means that as an applicant, there is a serious random component (i.e. you don't know the circumstances of the other applicants and can't predict that!). When things are partially random and you need at least one good outcome, you have to apply to more and know you can't plan everything. Why is that hard to grasp? [/quote]
