You WANT a dog with all of that, at the expense of another dog in a shelter.

You don't NEED a dog unless you live on a ranch or a farm.

Valid point that I don't need a dog. I own that I WANT a dog, but not just any dog. If I have a dog then I NEED certain things about that dog.  I own it, 1,000% which is why I just never understand the nastiness of those who put down others for the decisions they make regarding bringing another creature into their homes.
