This makes me sad. I am a Janney mom and nobody in real life at Janney behaves like those posters. I doubt they are even Janney parents. Just out to give Janney a bad name.
What makes me sad is that 500 families (or however many there are at Janney) just raised $400k for a school already filled mostly with children who want for nothing. If I was a part of that school community, I would be ashamed that we weren't inclined to channel those fundraising efforts to an actual worthy cause.
I wouldn't go that far - not a Janney parent but at another equally overcrowded JKLMM. What our school has to do to support all those students with less DCPS funding then other schools puts an extra burden on the school. Finding the resources and the creativity of finding "space". Yes, we are very lucky to be at a JKLMM and yes we should give money to other schools. Did you know that Deal and Wilson give a certain percentage of PTA/HSA funds raised to a city-wide fund that then gets distribute to other schools in need? Might be a great idea to setup something like this at the elementary level - I believe it is is small - just 1% - but better than nothing.
