I'm all about the magic of childhood and making a big deal about Santa, the tooth fairy and the Easter Bunny. I've never heard of doing these things. Why are you doing them? Are you pretending to be a leprechaun? I never thought they were real and neither do my kids. They wore green yesterday and that's it. I don't know of any parent that does this. My oldest is 9 and it's because of what I said before.  It is not that I'm purposely not doing these things. I've never heard of them until today when I read this.  I don't know anyone IRL putting food coloring in their toilet. I don't go on Pinterest frequently. Maybe that is why.  Before the kids were born we would go out drinking. I'm not anti- St. Patrick's Day but I never considered it a children's holiday. [/quote]

I don't go on Pinterest either, yet we do celebrate St. Patrick's Day. FTR, parents were sprinkling green food coloring in toilets decades ago...it's not a Pinterest thing.
