No having a high achieving child is not toxic.

Shaming him at every misstep is toxic. Comparing him to his peers is toxic. Talking to other moms about each others grades to compare and ensure you are "the best" is toxic. Not allowing extra curriculars because they take away from study time is toxic. Creating a schedule too strong for your child and making them so 4+ hours of homework with little sleep is toxic. Trying to keep up with the Lees is toxic.[/quote]
