A kid brought a gun to my MCPS high school when I was a senior there more than 20 years ago, and one of my friends back then kept one in his car all the time. Overall maybe.  But I can tell you as a parent at Whitman (a mere 10 minutes drive down River to Wilson) I don't worry about guns at school or violence more broadly.  Of course that doesn't mean nothing could or ever has happened at Whitman (there are no guarantees in life) but it is much less likely to be an issue.[/quote]

Serious question, has there ever been a mass school shooting a time an urban school? When I think of school shooting, I think of suburban high schools.[/quote]
