This is enough to give my family and I pause about Wilson. Oh well, goodbye DCPS. Between the occurring gun incidents (this year and last year) as well as the mediocrity of allowing everyone to take honors level courses for the upcoming 2017-2018 SY, we are DONE!
A kid brought a gun to my MCPS high school when I was a senior there more than 20 years ago, and one of my friends back then kept one in his car all the time. I suspect that wasn't the last time either of those things happened in MCPS. Strangely enough, people who post on DCUM continue to send their kids to Montgomery County schools.
Or go private. Wouldn't you agree that the issue of guns in public schools has worsened in the last 20 years?
Overall maybe. But I can tell you as a parent at Whitman (a mere 10 minutes drive down River to Wilson) I don't worry about guns at school or violence more broadly. Of course that doesn't mean nothing could or ever has happened at Whitman (there are no guarantees in life) but it is much less likely to be an issue.
Serious question, has there ever been a mass school shooting a time an urban school? When I think of school shooting, I think of suburban high schools.
