They will be there in 6 months, a year, 5 years, if you want to have some level of contact. You would also be entirely justified in being direct with them and saying that despite repeated attempts at making contact or staying in touch your biological father and paternal grandparents showed zero interest in staying in touch with you and that at this point you are not sure you want to be in contact with them. You can say that you are very surprised at all of this interest and you will consider it and be in touch when you are ready.[/quote]
