My kid had this at about this age too. Buy an electric razor (not a straight razor and shaving cream). Have him shave his upper lip only when it becomes noticeable to him (which will probably be no more than 1-2 times a month). It will take less than 30 seconds. This is really NBD, unless you treat it like one. And for a boy, maturing and hitting a growth spurt on the early side, rather than later, is usually not a bad thing. Tough to be the 4'9'' scrawny boy with no signs of puberty is middle school. Especially gym.
Studies show hitting puberty on the late side means a kid will have better growth overall. My side of the family men are over 6 feet. My husband's family they are 5'9"-5'10". Hoping the kids hit growth spurts on later side.
Definitely not always. Where do you find your info? Mine hit puberty early (shaving at 13, hairier legs than DH at 14). At 14, he ijust crossed over 6'00'' And the Ped says at least 4 more years of growth, and at least 6'4''. I would be fine if he stopped shooting up now! Also, would love it if he had basketball talent. :P Seriously, who told you late growth spurt boys have a better growth spurt? Unlike girls, boys grow until then end of HS, not in one big spurt and stop
13 is not early.
