Sorry, but they expected the citizens to second amend and not live with tyranny. I personally think Trump is too dumb to excite full on dictatorship etc.. But Putin is crazy like a fox. Yup, agree.  Plus there's unabated tribalism now.  No matter how egregious or unethical, the Trump supporters stand behind him to the bitter end, even at the destruction of their own interests.  There's no role for reason, no checks and balances.  The Congress is GOP dominated and they are actively seeking ways to reduce checks and balances our framers put into place. The refusal to nominate a SCOTUS is one example of that.

I obviously don't want a revolution, but Trump and his supporters - and the GOP - have taken us to a point of no return.  I don't imagine violence but do wonder if politically and practically we go our separate ways at some point as a nation.[/quote]
