Most of them that I have met are technically trained and pretty smart, but don't have a strong background in the history or economics or sociology or psychology or any of the humanities. Engineering types. In California and Seattle, the same guys veer libertarian. Despite being smart, they are kind of idiots. They are vastly ignorant on a whole range of topics, but they unaware of their own ignorance. The don't know what they don't know, to paraphrase Donald Rumsfield. [/quote]
