Virginia is two states (or Commonwealths).  One is blue (northern) and one is red/gray (southern).  There really is not a mixing.  Take away, Alexandria, Arlington and Fairfax and Virginia is just like one of the gulf southern states. [/quote]

We are a solidly mixed state.  NoVa runs more blue for sure, but it's not the only area of Va.
