Not of general interest to folks in the District.[/quote] I live in Alexandria, which is in Va, and is pretty different - not many HOA's. We do all pay state income tax and car tax. Not sure how Texas is financed, but my sense is we get value for the money. And Va is generally low in taxes compared to more northerly states. If OP really had ideas on making state and local govt more efficient, she could have gotten involved in state and local politics. Doesn't sound like she did though. [/quote]
