I had an ablation in July 2016. First 3 months (Aug, Sep, Oct) I had no pain and a mild period for just one day each month. Nov 2016, no period but severe, excrutiating labor type pain. It was accompanied by vomiting and feeling faint. I went to ER they assumed it was intestinal and gave me antibiotics and pain meds. 4 days later I still felt pressure but no pain. Dec 2016 - the whole thing repeated. I told pcm that pain was happening during what would have been my menstrual cycle. She ruled that a coincidence and was convinced it was a GI issue. 4 more days of antibiotics and pain decreased. Jan 1st 2017 - third month in a row that debilitating pain started on my cycle date. This time I avoided the pcp and went straight to the ob/gyn. She said scar tissue has formed over my cervix opening. Blood is pooling in my uterus with no place to go due to the scar tissue. The uterus is contracting to try and release the blood. So the labor type pains that Im feeling really are contractions, just no baby to push out. She said there is no way to re-open the cervix so I will be having a hysterectomy.
