The other night I think about a lot (and try not to becasue it was way scarier)--it was about 6-8 years ago. I was sleeping, and I remember it was a night I was very stressed about my daughter (she has an illness). I woke up and it was like 3am.  Suddenly, right into my ear, I heard this terrifying whispering. I actually am shuddering right now typing this! It was a raspy sort of voice, but like, the voice enunciated every word really distinctly, like a hissing weird hyper-pronounced thing. Im sure that makes no sense lol.  And all it did was whisper these super disgusting, really offensive, terrible things in my ear. Like nothing I've ever heard before in my life. I couldnt repeat what it said, (I dont remember) but I can remember what the voice sounded like. When it was happening, i knew that I had to say something, some sentence about God (dont recall what it was anymore).  And the first time I said it,I said it in my head, and then suddenly I knew i had to say it out loud, and I repeated it out loud over and over again. I am not at all religious and never have been. I remember my heart was absolutely pounding and I was super nauseus. Then suddenly it was all over. I had to get up and shower because I was all sweaty.  It was absolutely terrifiying.

If it makes you feel better, I have had an experience, definitely not as bad at that, but where I was having this horribly, horribly intense nightmare.  They were these things that I knew were evil- demonic would be a better word.  I can't remember all of it, but I'm a fairly good lucid dreamer, and I rarely have nightmares because of that, i can steer the dream or, if need be, wake myself up.  So haven't had a nightmare in years.  But this was different.  It was like there was no way out of it.  And the scary part was- the nightmare was taking place in my room, and I could see myself sleeping and the whole thing kind of taking place.  But, as dreams are, it was very fractured and didn't have a linear narrative.  Finally, it popped into my head that I needed to say God's name- my friend who is very into spirituality taught me the names of God and Jesus that are supposed to be "unutterable" because they are very powerful, and only to say them if I was in dire need.  So I remember, at that point, being very "in control" of the dream in that I was aware of what was happening as you would be in a lucid dream, but unable to get the evil to stop or the dream to end or change course.  Finally I was able to say the names (it was like whatever it was could sense I wanted to say them, and was trying, almost pleading, me not to) and it took a few seconds but the evil things vanished.

It totally sounds crazy, and maybe it was.  But I was very shaken, for the whole rest of the day.  I just KNEW something had legitimately been in my room with me, and I was living with a very negative person, and I feel strongly that it was this person's energy that allowed this evil thing to come in.  I actually had had prior experiences while living with her with bad "entities" (never had any experiences like these before or after I moved out from living with her) and it took me a while to realize that it had something to do with her.
