We have strawberry haired DS and DD and a beautiful red-haired colleague was shared she was teased in middle and high school. She used teased, said it was just normal private kid stuff. I'd honestly characterize it as relentless bullying. Is this common at every private? She made it seem so. She attended all girls Catholic schools.
Actually, no one wants to say it but I will ... we actually have to sign a pact when we enroll our children in private school that the children will 'relentlessly bully' 'gingers'. EVERY kid has to sign (except the 'gingers', of course!). It is in EVERY private school EVERYWHERE!!! Really? Is this the best you can come up with? If you don't want your child in private school then don't send him or her. In the meantime, if you are consistently using such a high level of hyperbole in front of your children then be prepared for the fact that they are going to have problems other than your interesting concern about their hair color.
