Bezos, Gates and others are just executing successfully the strategy outlined by Van Jones: "Part of what we've got to fight against is this cartoon character of Trump as a Hitlerseque hatemonger – which means that all he has to do is be slightly better than that and everybody's shocked. We keep making that mistake. But the fundamental nastiness and cynicism that is Trump's calling card can be overcome by a beautiful, loving, determined opposition. There's got to be a center of gravity that we hold that continues to insist that the America that we believe in is the real America." #LoveArmy More here: http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/features/van-jones-only-a-love-army-will-conquer-trump-w454026 I am glad the Trumpeters can't see it.
Actually, I believe it was Van Jones who claimed HRC's loss to Trump was a result of "whitelash." That sounds very racist and vitriolic to me, but of course, Mr. Jones was literally on the verge of tears--you could see them in his eyes--as he almost broke down on national television on election night. So maybe he can be excused for his racist statements. I don't see why anyone would think Van Jones is a useful source of facts or opinion about anything at all, though. Just a cardboard cutout, a caricature of a "black activist," good for nothing other than to say stupid, provocative things to inflame people. A thoroughly useless human being.
Thank you for your comment. I think you might reconsider your opinion of Van Jones if you read more of the article I posted. I agree with you that "whitelash" was not be best way to put it. But you have to concede that *some* Trump voters are in fact White Nationalist, this simply based on the fact that they were so happy about his victory. And you might also concede that, as AA, it's really hard, to the point of tears, to see someone with KKK support win the election. Note, I am not saying that Trump is racist himself. I am saying that KKK is happy about Trump, which is different. May I beg you to have some compassion for those feelings? I also don't want to believe that all Trump voters, including and especially those in the 3 States that gave him the victory, are racist. If they are racists, then Democrats have no chance. If they are simply hungry for attention and love, as I think they are, then soon enough they will realize that's not in Trump or the GOP that they will find it.
