So, I have no objection to an officer in uniform being armed while in public, including attending a college lecture.  Frankly, I believe in the policy that an officer should be armed whenever in uniform.  People have a right to expect a uniformed police officer to be able to execute his job even when not on duty and being armed is a part of that duty.  Frankly, tragedies like the Oregon community college shooting might have avoided loss of life if an armed police officer were in the classroom when the shooter arrived.[/quote]
