I have a feeling that we all know why PP brought up race, and it's because they are racist. Nya is hot. She was also in a good place to have a hot sexual relationship with no other strings attached (though seems like that's about to change). She also has a really nice apartment. It doesn't seem like a wild stretch of the imagination that a younger guy would find all that appealing! She's also brilliant by the by. Some men are actually impressed and turned on by that.
Not PP and I agree that she is attractive, but her character is fairly underdeveloped on the show, and I am having trouble getting into her storyline. They need to do more with her.
Oh, for SURE. She also seems totally off on another show from the other characters. Like Seema is there having dinner with the main crew - and her only real contact is that Miranda is living in her apartment, at this point. I do feel like I know who she is - they've drawn a character who feels familiar - but her storyline is so small and so separate from everyone else. Maybe she'll get drawn in more now that she's going to go through an emotional crisis.
Well Miranda is the only well-educated one in the group, so I can see why it's difficult to integrate Naya with the others who talk about little other than boys and materialistic crap. Miranda's social cluelessness was endearing though, and the disconnect between her professional success vs dating life mistakes was the foundation of many of her storylines. Even if Naya is sad about her divorce, she's a confident and successful woman, so then what?
Charlotte is quite well educated - I think she went to a top private school and undergrad and she had a high profile job in the art world and just got back into that. They don't let just anyone off the street sell crappy art to Sam Smith.
