These Walney Oaks folks are annoying AF and misrepresenting their situation. They are not a mile from Chantilly.
I was curious when I read that. I google mapped it. Just as close to Westfield as Chantilly--maybe closer. And definitely more in the Westfield area community wise: shopping, activities, etc. I will say, they should not be assigned to Franklin Middle. I don't understand that.
Franklin is just a straight shot up Walney Road. It's only slightly further than Rocky Run, about about identical drive time.
Yes, but most of the kids there live north of 50. It's a pretty major dividing point visually and mentally. Shouldn't they go to Stone Middle School if they go to Westfield? It's closer than Franklin
My takeaway was they seem to have bamboozled Reid into believing they should not only stay at Chantilly but also move to Rocky Run, so I guess it's moot. The problem I have is someone is needed to backfill kids leaving Westfield and they are one of the closest neighborhoods. Who are they proposing to do that if not them? They can't operate Westfield at <50% capacity so people do have to be moved.
