“The day before J.D. was selected—I did not know he was going to be selected—I was working as a lawyer, and I had the wardrobe of a person with three children who likes to do things outdoors, who has a dog, who doesn’t like things to be too precious. And then, a switch flipped, and it’s not like it came with a whole new wardrobe and stylist and everything.” So did she get one? Another pull quote: “PEOPLE DON’T SEEM TO CARE ALL THAT MUCH WHAT I LOOK LIKE,” USHA SAID. https://www.thefp.com/p/usha-vance-second-lady-interview-the-free-press-peter-savodnik-jd-vance
Wow. This is a really stupid subheading.
The most impressive person in the job since Abigail Adams is J.D.’s best asset if he ever runs for president. She sits down with The Free Press for her first interview in her new role.
From appearance/style to presence, speaking, and poise, she is no where near the top of the list of first ladies.
This makes me think she's even more of a loser than I thought. As far as fashion, this is at least a good photo and she does not yet look like a Maralago Barbie doll.
This is my impression (albeit in writing) of Usha announcing she was going to Greenland. "Hello! My name is Usha. Vance. And I am so excited to. Announce that I am going. To Greenland." You know in elementary school when you do read-alouds and in the early grades kids haven't figured out the pacing yet? So they read each line as a sentence even if the sentence is broken into multiple lines? God love them, they're like eight, but I would expect an OMG YALE graduate to know better. (Btw, did you guys know she went to Yale? She's so cool!)
Are you ok?
