I would not convict him. I am white and a woman. I do not think the case was proven. I feel the case was too much about domestic abuse but that is not the charge. I would convict on that charge if it was a charge. i do not think he was running a criminal operation. He is an abusive guy with sex habits that I have heard of meaning the swinging stuff. It is a strange life but clearly some people like that which is why there are actual sex clubs.
But he didn’t go to a sex club he ran his own…sex business. Money changed hands. That’s a fact. He controlled women and men with abusive tactics. That’s a fact. What else is needed to prove criminal intent?
No he was having freak offs for fun and with people who were into it. He wasn’t making money. A brothel makes money. Again he is a troubled guy and an abuser but the freak offs were just a weird fetish. The irony is his defense probably would have looked at me and bounced me from the jury but I would look at charges and not if I personally liked or hated the guy. It is clear they are trying to make people convict him over his abuse to his girlfriend and that is not the charge. She also went along it seemed happily with the freaky stuff so I can’t even say she was forced. The reality is there are a lot of people into this crazy lifestyle. I cannot imagine it being fun but whatever. Hope if he get off he works on himself and gets some help.
Which charge includes profit-motive as an element of the crime?
