The Sony exec Ange’s main feedback was that the movie did not have a compelling reason for audiences to believe that Blake’s character would have stayed with Justin’s character after the abuse. She said they needed to show passion etc because that makes it plausible lily would have ignored the red flags and stayed with him. Otherwise, the audience just wouldn’t accept it.

It was good feedback but the point is there were multiple people other than Justin putting pressure for it to be sexier. Blake and Jenny themselves use that word so for justin to use it and all of a sudden it be SH falls flat.

If Blake did not want to do a movie with these kinds of scenes she should not have signed on. Maybe if she had read the book she would’ve known better. [/quote]
