No.  Actually, there is not.

Research:

Teaching reading early is not helpful to long term achievement.  There are many studies on this.
Common Core standards include reading in the standards for K.

Now, we know what happens when you do not have Early Childhood teachers on the committee.

Please read up on Direct Instruction. The Common Core standards have nothing whatever to do with Direct Instruction.  They also have nothing whatever to do with instruction of 3-4-year-olds. And that's entirely aside from the problems with the High/Scope preschool curriculum study.[/quote]
