People keep saying this. Yes, celebrities get attention that the rest of us don’t get. That’s what makes them celebrities. They also get more attention than us when they get married or divorced, have kids, or are simply seen in public. Obviously, every missing person case will not get this kind of attention. But a LE friend once told me that any high profile case like this actually helps all the others and even helps prevent more. As we learn about the case, we all learn a little more about the investigation process and things to be aware of in our everyday lives. We all also learn a bit more about prevention. I’m sure a lot of people took measures to increase their home security because of this. Maybe they bought a nest doorbell or already had one and decided to spring for the subscription. I’m sure a lot of people are keeping a closer eye on their elderly relatives and checking in on them more often.

So, instead of complaining about the attention this is getting, think about the awareness and education that comes along with that. [/quote]
