Mel mis-represented what Cindy said to his sons, his friend Diane, and to Peg. Cindy didn't say she wanted to get married right away or ask him to commit to her right then and there. Cindy asked him if he was ready to get engaged. He said he wasn't. It's kind of a red flag that he rewrote history. Also a red flag that he tried to blame Cindy for what happened (you quit) vs. just saying he was sorry that he couldn't give her what she needed to hear. Other Bachelors have had a much higher emotional IQ. Peg gets someone to date...woo hoo... and if she's fine with that, then she's a good match for Mel.
Agreed. He is such a self-centered @sshole and gaslighter. It was a great moment when she walked away.
Oh it gets better. In a new interview, he basically called Cindy a quitter and said "well she's back to square one and I've got my girl." He also said he felt far more strongly for Peg, which contradicts what he said on the show and an US Magazine interview last week. He is a jerk.
