Where is the Russian victory here? Best case, they keep their gains in Donbas and Crimea. But no one on the planet recognizes it. Sanctions stay on forever. Russia is a pariah state. Their economy tanks. Russians become poorer. There will be endless local resistance. Most Russian soldiers will die one way or another. Much of the area will be uninhabitable for decades anyway because of mines. The entire planet loathes Russia. Europe moves on from Russian energy. They used to have Germany paying a premium. Now it's just India taking advantage of Russia's weakness. Where is the Russian win?
More magical thinking about pariah state and entire planet loathing Russia. Dear, there’s more to this planet than America and Europe and the rest of the world doesn’t give a dang. Africa, LAC, China and India are happy to do biz with Russia.
So - dear - Africa and the middle east are not happy about Russia destroying Ukraine's capacity to export grain. The region is also not happy with Wagner mercenaries. Russia is an incredibly destructive force in both regions. India is very much regretting buying Russian weapon systems. Pakistan will kick their ass and they know it. India is weak. Now they're groveling for cheap Russian oil. Pathetic. China will sell anything to anyone. And they should be sanctioned for it. But they're paying close attention to things. There is no chance they're invading Taiwan in the foreseeable future. Sure, there are a lot of amoral states that don't give a damn. But there are huge costs to doing business with Russia. South Africa is figuring that out now. Russia is a pariah state and it will be for decades.
