You seem to be labeling as "reality" what is nothing more than a prediction, while omitting one significant cohort from the equation - the urban Millenials who will stay in the city and never have kids.  These people often have an disproportionate impact on local government and their interests are frequently not aligned with those of parents, as they favor spending on other social services besides schools and oppose land being acquired or developed for schools.  When that group comes into conflict with parents who only want the best for their kids, it is usually the latter who blink first and move out. It's [/quote]
