Are any of these players going to go professional? The entire premise seems like a money grab for desperate parents.
I would think that 10% of their football team has a legitimate shot at the NFL, and 50% is probably D1 caliber.
Let's move the decimal place here. Even at historically established football powerhouses like Mater De, Bosco, Aquinas, etc, their players have a <1% chance of making it to the NFL. Let's take IMG for example since they have the most amount of active players in the NFL. IMG started playing football in 2013. They currently have 21 active NFL players and 31 players ever drafted. Let's UNDER exaggerate and say that every year they have at least 100 kids in the football program across their multiple teams (they have far more). So 1200 athletes in 12 years, only 31 made the NFL. That's roughly 2.5%... No way STJ's current roster 5xs the odds.
Do you not understand the difference between legitimate shot and actual percentages? Much can happen in 4 years of college so it makes perfect sense that the team has 10% with a legitimate shot as a HS senior which translates to 1% actually making the NFL as college grads.
Do you understand that you think 1 out of every 5 players at STJ has a legitimate shot of making it to the NFL?
Are you capable of simple math? 10% is of course not 1 out of 5. The top 10% of players on a team ranked in the top 20 in the nation in fact at that point in time have a legitimate shot at the NFL at that moment in time. They are 4 star and 5 star recruits. Will 10% make it to the NFL? Of course not.
There is not a single player ranked a 4 or 5 star by ESPN, 247, or any other ranking service on STJ… STJ is also not ranked in the Top 20 in the nation. MaxPreps ranking is all that matters. STJ is ranked 6th in VA. Are you insinuating there’s 6 VA teams ranked in the Top 20 nationally?
Yeah but they are the best team in Virginia.
Based on your opinion. But ranked by people who actually know what they’re talking about, they’re the sixth best team in VA.
I mean...they are ranked #2 in the DMV and absolutely destroyed Good Counsel. I am sure a game against Dematha would have been a great game...hopefully they schedule more WCAC teams next year. Are all the top VA football teams in southern VA?
Good Counsel went 6-5 during a down year, not exactly a great measurement benchmark. Yes, the top 5 Virginia teams are outside the DMV. Still waiting for someone to post all the 4 & 5 stars that STJ supposedly has  Or where they’re ranked in the Top 20 in the nation  People just spew the most uninformed crap on here lol
It’s their first year in existence…what other measurement do you want? Their only loss was to the #2 ranked HS team in the country who I am sure would have destroyed any team in the DMV or the entire state of VA (which you know is true).
