Are any of these players going to go professional? The entire premise seems like a money grab for desperate parents.
I would think that 10% of their football team has a legitimate shot at the NFL, and 50% is probably D1 caliber.
That’s a high number. I don’t think it’s that high
40% playing in college is probably a good baseline, D1 probably not.
St Frances Academy in Baltimore claims that nearly every kid is offered a D1 scholarship (at least they did in 2022)...with their stars of course receiving multiple D1 offers. They are the #1 ranked HS team in the country...SJA is in the top 50 in the country. I would think 50% getting offered a D1 scholarship is accurate.
Since it is their first year let's see, but I also don't think the SFA claim is what you might think it is. "Offered" doesn't mean that's where the player ended up, and offers aren't all the same, few are legitimately committable. SFA is insane, TSJ is aiming for that.
Offered means they could have attended the school…not sure what point you are trying to make. Also not understanding when you say “offers aren’t all the same”. It’s D1 football which means all offers are 100% scholarship. The difference now is that the GA QB may have NIL and direct payment deals worth several million, while the Fordham QB just gets 100% scholarship.
This is embarrassingly inaccurate. Lets break it down: All D1 offers are NOT 100% scholarship. Not even close. In fact, the vast majority are partial. More often than not, these D1 "offers" that these kids post on their IG's and Twitters are non-committable and would require the player to pay out of pocket to go to that teams camp and perform well enough to earn an actual offer, etc. Let's not even dive into the fact that these "full ride scholarships" are 1 year contracts and not for the entirety of said players college career, which many players don't initially realize. Post rules changes in July 2025, colleges can now use NIL funds to pay tuition and effectively exceed the amount of "scholarships" they are allowed to give out. Depending who else is on the roster and the deals made to those kids, that Fordham QB may also be getting his "scholarship" through NIL. Colleges "offer" kids non committable offers all the time. Sometimes to help kids get more exposure, fear of missing out on a player, and most often as favors to high school head coaches for exposure of their program in general. It's all about relationships. More often than not, if a kid has a dozen + offers, easily over 50% of them are non-committable. You ever see a kid with an offer from HUGE programs but for some reason they end up going to smaller schools? This is the reason why. Non-committable offers. - signed an ex-college athlete, grad assistant, and current high school football coach and recruiting coordinator of 10+ years.
100% of D1 football players receive 100% scholarship…yes, on one year at a time contracts. Are you actually trying to refute that fact?
Yes. This is factually incorrect. You can literally google this… Ever heard of a Walk-On? Ever heard of FCS? Division 1 FBS, sure. But there’s hundreds of D1 schools with players on partial or no scholarship.
