That's what Sears should do. That's the kind of thing we voters care about
What tax do you want to increase to offset that loss in revenue?
Who cares? Jim Gilmore won on that issue alone. Virginia survived.
So you want a meaningless promise? Let me guess, you wanted that wall.
It was good politics, that's all I'm saying. And Va. has always been a well managed state so I don't know what you mean by meaningless promise. I hate the care tax.
It’s terrible politics. A politician making promises they can’t keep is meaningless. VA needs revenue. If you want to take away the car tax, where else do you want to be taxed? Income? Sales tax?
? I guess you weren't around when Jim Gilmore ran and won on this very issue
Effective campaigning isn’t good politics. Lies and empty promises are effective when clueless people believe them. I was here and voted against that nonsense. VA needs leaders who don’t make meaningless promises.
NP. What troubled me about Spanberger’s debate performance was how evasive she was. She evaded every question. Why do I get the feeling she is lying to us?
I don’t think she’s lying - I think she’s smart and realizes how little power the one-term VA governor has and she doesn’t want to promise stuff she can’t deliver. To be honest, her biggest selling point is Sears’ histrionics, outbursts, and behavior. I am so tired of hearing Sears rant about what’s inside someone else’s underwear and when she very publicly said “so what” about the federal firings it was never close. Spanberger is at least smart enough to understand the financial basis for her state’s historically good finances. Jones is a toad, I wish they would actually research people before putting them on the ballot, but we may need a VA AG who will take on the federal government and I don’t trust any Republican in 2025.
