Why did Midd have such a large class entering fall 2021? That was the year I thought a lot of students deferred due to Covid.
Who cares? It's 2025.
Yes. And when their Midd schools abroad - distinct from MIS - virtually went bankrupt (a problem that continues because study abroad since then has dropped precipitously), they decided, for budget reasons, to make the enrollment increase permanent. An understandable outcome. What is not understandable is their communications tack of lying to students and prospective students about it, year in and year out, saying that the enrollment increase was a one-year thing and going back to normal levels. Spring 2024 admissions visit at Midd: slide said current enrollment was 2500 (off by a few hundred). In answer to a question about the enrollment increase? “We will be returning to 2500 next year.” Did not happen in Fall 2024. DC info session: same thing. And on, and on, and on… Only recently have they finally admitted the enrollment increase is permanent. But they said it will only be 2650 students, not 2750. Another lie. They admitted the freshman class for this fall consistent with 2750. As we will see when the fall numbers come out….
Can you point to anything documented for your assertion on Middlebury Schools abroad or is it just another one of your exaggerations and outright lies? The budget letter that you previously posted explicitly states that Breadloaf, the Language schools, and Middlebury schools abroad are revenue positive. Middlebury admitted an incoming class of 640 for the fall which is consistent with 2560 or so on campus (plus 115 Febs to replace the juniors going abroad) so you got that one completely wrong as well. YOou keep lying and people keep correcting you. Just stop.
So how about you come back and apologize when this fall’s enrollment data shows the school still has well over 2700? Let’s make a deal. If the numbers show more than 2700, you come back, apologize, and spare us your future Midd insight. Otherwise, I will apologize and do the same. Believe me, I would be glad for Midd’s lies to end…
And watch out, Midd troll, before you make any kind of deal. The class of 2028 had 600 students and 100 Febs. So this year, by your own numbers, is an increase of 50 kids from the previous year — in that class alone — to accomplish a 200 student decrease in overall undergrad enrollment. Math is your friend. Here is your precious cite: https://www.middlebury.edu/announcements/announcements/2024/09/middlebury-welcomes-class-2028
OMFG you just don't get it. There were 2564 students on Campus for this past spring, easy to look up. They historically have about talk about 2560 kids ON CAMPUS every semester, it has been roughly the same for the last 10 years (all that I can see the data for) except for the bump that happened in 2021 (and it happened to many schools, not just Middlebury) which then took 4 years to work through which it has hence only 2564 kids on campus in the spring. They said that they were going to add kids to average 2600-2650 kids on campus over the next few years and 40 more kids get an opportunity this year because a NEW DORM opens this coming semester which has 50 more beds that the one it is replacing. Middlebury admits "Febs" to fill the campus beds for the kids who go abroad each year which is about 100-150 kids hence about 120 kids. The number of kids on campus DOESN'T CHANGE, this isn't hard. Let me break it down for you: 2564 on Campus in Spring 580 graduated So we now have 1984 returning on campus students for Fall plus 140 or so returning from abroad so lets say 2125 returning kids which is the same that it has been for years. 2125 returnees plus 640 new kids less 140 or so who will go abroad and you have.....wait for it 2625 or so kids on campus. Next Feb 140 kids go abroad and 120 Febs come in and wait for it....2605 or so kids on campus. Simple arithmetic using numbers directly from Middlebury. You are correct, math is my friend but it isn't your friend.
Yeah, I didn’t read your wall of text. So you are taking the deal?
It seems that fair terms have been offered.
I believe that Fair terms would be the Troll shutting their pie hole and learning to read.
