So Noem defenders here have falsely claimed: "He rushed the podium" - he didn't, he was nowhere near the podium, he was standing at the edge of the room "He lunged" - he didn't - he was lunged at when he tried asking a question "He shoved officers" - he didn't, they put hands on him and shoved him repeatedly, he did not put his hands on the officers and in fact can be seen deliberately avoiding doing that and so on. Noem defenders, you need to stop lying. He was bumrushed, shoved around, thrown to the ground and handcuffed for trying to ask a question. And, as a Senator, it IS HIS JOB to ask government officials questions and to hold them accountable. Whether or not you like it is not relevant. This is an incredibly bad look for this administration. It's a disgrace.
The video shows him continually pushing the agents even as he was escorted out. He deserved this.
It's clear to see in the video that Padilla is a big guy, clearly taller and more body mass than the officers pushing on him. If he actually shoved them believe me the officers wouldn't have been on their feet. Stop lying and gaslighting us pretending like Padilla was being violent. You insult us with your lies and it needs to stop.
