UTenn, UK, Auburn, Alabama, SC all so popular at our MD high school now. Will these kids migrate to red states after graduation? Are these colleges any good? How are they funded if these states don't prioritize education funding?[/quote] These schools aren’t selective. They aren’t getting the brightest students in Maryland. The colleges accept mostly in-state students and based on the Southern states standing in education they aren’t exactly scholars going there. The bright students from the South are heading North or West. The mediocre at best local kids will be at the schools you mention. University of Alabama has an 80% admittance rate. University of Kentucky accepts 95% of applicants. Tennessee has about 65% admit rate. You get the picture. [/quote]
